FOREMARK RESERVOIR The usual adult Glaucous Gull was found back in the roost on 23rd Nov and again on 27th Nov. As per usual it is coming in about 4.00.p.m. A juvenile Iceland Gull was found on 25/26th Nov. A 3rd winrer Caspian Gull roosted on 20/24th Nov with 2 adults roosting on 27th Nov. Up to 8 Yellow Legged Gulls are roosting here currently along with up to 25,000 Black Headed Gulls, c250 Common Gulls, c3350 Lesser Black Backed Gulls, c700 Herring Gulls and c200 Great Black Backed Gulls. A fem Red Breasted Merganser and a Shoveler on 20th Nov, a Common Scoter and c400 Pink Footed Geese flew West on 22nd Nov. A Goldeneye appears to have taken up residence here and 18 Bramblings on 27th Nov.
CARSINGTON WATER The Great Northern Diver still present and was joined by 5 Scaup and a Common Scoter on 23rd Nov. A Jack Snipe on 22nd Nov. A 2nd winter Iceland Gull and a 3rd winter Caspian Gull on 18th Nov.
OGSTON RESERVOIR A Bar Tailed Godwit and a Greenshank on 20th Nov. On 23rd Nov 2 Caspian Gulls-an ad and a Juv-roosted along with 2 Yellow Legged Gulls.
CHATSWORTH PARK A Hawfinch and 12 Crossbills on 24th Nov.
CROMFORD WHARF AREA Up to 2 Hawfinch have been noted lately.
LONG EATON GRAVEL PITS 6 Whooper Swans on 21st Nov. Up to 5 Little Egrets here within the last week and a Stonechat has also been seen, On 27th Nov a Waxwing was seen near the entrance to Trent Meadows. A Goosander and a Water Rail on 19th Nov and 4 Goldeneye on 24th Nov.
CHURCH WILNE RESERVOIR On 19th Nov 5 Little Grebes, 25 Great Crested Grebes, 23 Cormorants, 2 Grey Herons, 8 Gadwall, 10 Pochard, 220 Tufted Duck, 10 Goldeneye and 206 Coots. On 26th Nov 11 Goldeneye, 2 Goosander and a Grey Wagtail, The Gull roost consisted of c10,000 Black Headed Gulls and c600 Common Gulls with small numbers of Herring and Lesser Black Backed Gulls, Also c50 Pied Wagtails were coming into roost.
ST CHADS WATER 6 Goosanders on 26th Nov and a Kingfisher.
ASTON-ON-TRENT GRAVEL PITS On 21st Nov 1 Little Grebe, 17 Great Crested Grebes, 28 Cormorants, 5 Grey Herons, 41 Mute Swans, 274 Wigeon, 24 Gadwall, 91 Teal, 16 Shoveler,8 Pochard, 84 Tufted Duck, 16 Goldeneye, 2 Common Buzzards and 1 Snipe. On 28th Nov 3 Pintail, 19 Goldeneye, 1 Water Rail, 1 Caspian Gull-ad, 1 Grey Wagtail, c100 Fieldfares, c30 Redwing and c15 Blackbirds. Also a Song Thrush in full song.
AMBASTON GRAVEL PITS On 23rtd Nov 1 Little Grebe, 1 Grey Heron, 28 Wigeon, 17 Gadwall, 5 Teal, 8 Tufted Duck, 1 Common Buzzard, 1 Jack Snipe, 7 Snipe, a Kingfisher and a Green Woodpecker.
SPONDON On 21st Nov c 250 Pink Footed Geese flew West at 12.40.p.m.
GOYT VALLEY A Great Grey Shrike on 20th Nov.
MIDDLETON MOOR 2 Whooper Swans on 22/26thNov.
TODDBROOK RESERVOIR 4 Whooper Swans on 22nd Nov.
DRAKELOW DWT RESERVE 2 Ruddy Shelduck and a Merlin on 22nd Nov.
WILLINGTON GRAVEL PITS A Bar Tailed Godwit on 18th Nov.
CHESTER GREEN A Ring Necked Parakeet on 24th Nov.
SUTTON-ON-THE-HILL 5 Whooper Swans on 23rd Nov.
