Thanks to Rod Key for the following:-
STAUNTON HAROLD RESERVOIR A fem/imm Common Scoter on 13/14th Sept with an imm.drake Scaup briefly on 17th Sept. Still up to 2 adult Yellow Legged Gulls on site and also an ad. Great Black Backed Gull. A Little Egret on 13/14/16th Sept with 2 on 17th Sept. Also a Common Sandpiper and 57 Teal on 17th Sept.
WILLINGTON GRAVEL PITS A Nightjar was seen hawking insects at dusk on 14th Sept by Chris Burnett-the first record for the Reserve and a rare record from the south of the County for this migrant. A Black Tailed Godwit on 15/18th Sept and still at least 3 Cettis Warblers and a Sedge Warbler on 18th Sept.
CARSINGTON WATER 2 Bar Tailed Godwits from Paul Stanley Hide on 17th Sept.
WYVER LANE DWT RESERVE A Water Pipit was claimed flying over on 18th Sept disappearing towards Belper. This is a very early record for this species .Also a juv Black Tailed Godwit on 17/18th Sept.
BELPER RIVER GARDENS On the exposed mud here as they have recently drained the Basin there has been up to 15 Grey Wagtails.
DRAKELOW DWT RESERVE A Black Tailed Godwit and a Yellow Legged Gull on 16th Sept.
LONG EATON GRAVEL PITS On 18th Sept a juv. Arctic Tern briefly on The Wind Surfing Pit. Also present 7 Little Grebes, 36 Great Crested Grebes, 5 Cormorants, 2 Grey Herons, 17 Mute Swans, 4 Gadwall, 3 Teal, 5 Pochard, 148 Tufted Duck, c185 Lapwing, 1 Snipe, 1 Kingfisher and c50 House Martins.
CHURCH WILNE RESERVOIR On 18th Sept 2 Little Grebes, 27 Great Crested Grebes, 22 Cormorants, 5 Pochard, 285 Tufted Duck, 1 Common Buzzard, 7 Sand Martins and c20 House Martins.
