I just managed to get a copy of Bence Mate’s book, the “Handbook Of Bird Photography” and all I can say is, it’s bloody brilliant. Bence shares the authorship with Markus Varesvuo and Jari Peltomäki.
Quite a big book at 358 pages, it is full of first-class images and excellent advice. Bence shows how he builds his hides and how he goes about photographing birds in some really extreme conditions. Some places as cold as -30, often spending up to 5 days camped on the icy surface of a frozen lake.
If you’re into bird photography or simply enjoy watching birds, this book although a bit on the expensive side at almost £40 has everything and, for me, well worth the money.
