The Crake found by Steve Jackson at Wyver Lane NR last night is still showing well this morning.
Parking is extremely limited and already full so suggest walking the lane if visiting.

WYVER LANE DWT RESERVE A Spotted Crake was found last evening-29th Aug-by Steve Jackson at the southern end of the main pool, Still present this morning along with 2 Whinchats. Please be aware that parking here is difficult and you might have to park on the main road and walk in. This is the first site record with the last county record being at Willington GP in 2010. Steve Jackson has now found 4 Spotted Crakes in Derbyshire. Nice Work Steve.
CARSINGTON WATER “Brutus” the adult Yellow Legged Gull still present on 28th Aug along with 2 Red Crested Pochard, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Ringed Plover. 2 Greenshank, 2 Yellow Wagtails and a Wheatear.
STAUNTON HAROLD RESERVOIR A jiv. Mediterranean Gull on ther dam wall late afternoon of 27th Aug with 3 Little Egrets and the ad. Yellow Legged Gull still present on 28th Aug
ASTON-ON-TRENT GRAVEL PITS A Marbled Duck was found here on 29th Aug but unfortunately had a red/orange colour ring on it’s left lag making this potentially new bird for the county into an escape!!!! Also here were 2 Little Grebes,11 Great Crested Grebes, 47 Cormorant, 1 Little Egret, 13 Grey Herons, 45 Mute Swans, 33 Grey Lag Geese, 90 Canada Geese, 10 Wigeon, 50 Gadwall, 15 Teal, 12 Shoveler, 6 Pochard, 86 Tufted Duck, 1 Common Buzzard, 3 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Snipe, c300 Black Headed Gulls, c50 Lesser Black Backed Gulls, 1 Herring Gull-ad, 1 Yellow Legged Gull-ad . 3 Caspian Gulls-ads and 4 Common Terns. Just a reminder that there is no general access to this siteOGSTON RESERVOIR A Tree Pipit, c20 Crossbills and a 3rd year Yellow Legged Gull on 30th Aug
