ILKESTON A Black Stork was seen soaring over Ilkeston at 11.45 this morning-29th July. It was watched for 5 minutes before it drifted of NE abd was lost in clouds. The 3rd county record after the 2 in 2011.
OGSTON RESERVOIR 6 Black Tailed Godwits on 27th July and 3 Arctic Terns on 28th July.
CARR VALE DWT RESERVE A Black Tailed Godwit on 27/28th July.
CARSINGTON WATER 2 Ruddy Shelduck, a Whimbrel and a Turnstone on 23rd July with 2 Turnstone and 2 Black Tailed Godwits on 24th July. A flock of 9 Common Scoter on 26th July with an Osprey and a Turnstone on 28th July.
WILLINGTON GP Up to 3 Black Tailed Godwits from 23-27th July with 4 Little Egrets on 23rd July.
STAUNTON HAROLD RESERVOIR 2 fem/imm Common Scoter on 23rd July with 2 ad. Yellow Legged Gulls on 26/27th July.
FOREMARK RESERVOIR A drake Common Scoter on 23rd July.
DRAKELOW WILDFOWL RESERVE 14 Little Egrets on 28th July.
HOWDEN RESERVOIR A Red Kite on 23rd July.
ASTON-ON-TRENT GRAVEL PITS 3 Little Egrets on 24th July whilst in amongst a small flock of Gulls in a field by the entrance road to the site between Shardlow and Aston-on-Trent 3 adult Yellow Legged Gulls and a third year Caspian Gull.
