CARSINGTON WATER Late afternoon on 15th May found a total of 34 Turnstones around Sailing Club Island and Stones Island. Two more birds dropped in to make a grand total of 36 birds another County record. Most birds had moved on by early evening only leaving 7 birds. Also final total of Sanderling was 8 and a Whimbrel and a total of 55 Dunlin moved through during the day.
ASTON-ON-TRENT GRAVEL PITS 2 Greenshank, a Dunlin, 3 Common Terns, a Sparrowhawk and c100 Swifts on 15th May.

May 15th was quite an exceptional day in the county courtesy of the weather conditions.
