CARR VALE DWT RESERVE The 3rd winter Iceland Gull again present for about an hour on 17th Apr before it flew off at 09 50.a.m. This is the latest ever for Derbyshire. Also a Black Tern was present for about 5 minutes before it flew off high to the North. This equals the second earliest ever for Derbyshire. A Jack Snipe on 15th Apr showed well and an adult Kittiwake on 16th Apr.

PLESSLEY PIT NATURE RESERVE The Black Tern was here on 17th Apr before being briefly relocated at Carr Vale.

OGSTON RESERVOIR A Dotterel flew through going NW at 07.50 a.m. on 17th Apr and an Arctic Tern mid morning on 18th Apr.

PADFIELD A Ring Ouzel on 17th Apr.

WYVER LANE DWT RESERVE A male Redstart on 18th Apr.

WILLINGTON GRAVEL PITS A first winter Caspian Gull on 17th Apr with a Grasshopper Warbler and an Arctic Tern on 18th Apr. Both Sedge Warbler on 16th Apr and Reed Warbler on 17th Apr now back here.

CHURCH WILNE RESERVOIR On 17th Apr 8 Great Crested Grebes, 11 Gadwall, 41 Tufted Duck, 3 Common Scoters-all drakes, 48 Coot and 1 Swallow.

AMBASTON GRAVEL PITS On 18th Apr 4 Little Grebes, 23 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Grey Lag Geese, 2 Shelduck, 1 Shoveler, 9 Tufted Duck, a “cream crown” Marsh Harrier flew NW at 11.30.a..m., 1 Common Buzzard, 3 Snipe, 6 Sky Larks, 1 Rock Pipit which flew off NW, 23 Yellow Wagtails, 1 Sedge Warbler, 1 Chiffchaff and 3 Willow Warblers.

CARSINGTON WATER Still at least 1 Great Northern Diver present on 18th Apr.
