The Ogston Bird walk on 6 April 2013 was led by Paul Beard and there were 19 who joined the walk. It was a lovely dry and sunny morning but the chilly wind East wind was still making it cool. There were still patches of snow under the hedgerows and in shady areas. The walk started from the West Bank car park. We walked down Ogston New Road to Brackenfield Church and turned up Church Lane crossing Brackenfield Green and down Millers Lane and back to the car park.

We recorded 38 species in all. Blackbird, Blue Tit, Canada Geese, Chaffinch, Chiffchaff, Coal Tit, Coot, Cormorant, Dunnock, Goldfinch, Great Crested Grebe, Great Tit, Greenfinch, Grey Heron, Greylag Goose, Herring Gull, House Sparrow, Jackdaw, Jay, Lapwing, Little Grebe, Long Tailed Tit, Magpie, Mallard, Mistle Thrush, Moorhen, Nuthatch, Pied Wagtail, Reed Bunting, Robin, Snipe, Sparrowhawk, Teal, Tufted Duck, Woodpigeon, Wren.

2 Brown Hare were also seen.
