LONG EATON GRAVEL PITS A Sandwich Tern flew upriver mid morning on 1st April.

WILLINGTON GRAVEL PITS 2 adult Mediterranean Gulls were found on the spit late afternoon on 31st Mar and were still present early morning on 1st April.

CARR VALE DWT RESERVE 2 Ospreys flew through ESE on 31st Mar. The pair of Garganey still present on 29th Mar.

DRAKELOW DWT RESERVE An adult Caspian Gull on 31st Mar.

RED KITES Single birds at Clay Cross, Kelstedge and Middleton Moor on 31st Mar.

ASTON-ON-TRENT GRAVEL PIT On 39th Mar 21 Great Crested Grebes, 7 Cormorants, 2 Grey Herons, 2 Shelduck, 123 Wigeon, 2 Gadwall, 89 Teal, 9 Shoveler, 1 Pochard, 92 Tufted Duck,15 Goldeneye, 3 Smew-1drake, 1 Common Buzzard, 2 Common Gulls and a Bullfinch.

AMBASTON GRAVEL PITS On 31st Mar 1 Little Grebe, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Cormorant, 11 Wigeon, 32 Teal, 10 Shoveler, 9 Tufted Duck,6 Common Buzzards, 3 Oystercatchers, 20 Lapwing, 1 Redshank. 6 Stock Doves, 5 Pied Wagtails, 1 Redwing, 2 Chiffchaffs and 2 Long Tailed Tits. On 30th Mar 4 Ringed Plover and 3 Redshank.
