WHOOPER SWANS The passage of these Swans continued on 12/13th Mar. The record flock of 81 at Mapperley Reservoir on 11th Mar stayed all day but had gone by next morning. However on 12th Mar a herd of 29 were on the Pylon Pit at Long Eaton GP and stayed all day having arrived from the SW at about 9.00.a.m. Another herd of 29 were at Carr Vale NR, c35 flew over Foremark Reservoir and 1 was on the Canal Pit at Willington. On 13th Mar 28 spent all day at Willington GP and 1 was at Carsington Water.
CARR VALE NR 5 adult Kittiwakes on 12th Mar.

CROMFORD WHARF Still 18 Hawfinches here on 14th Mar.
LONG EATON GRAVEL PITS 5 Red Crested Pochard on 12th Mar and the female Red Breasted Merganser again present on 13th Mar. Other birds on 12th Mar included 3 Little Grebes, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Cormorant, 3 Grey Herons, 22 Wigeon, 2 Gadwall, 3 Teal, 33 Pochard, 76 Tufted Duck, 12 Goldeneye and 7 Goosander.
ST.CHADS WATER On 12th Mar 1 Great Crested Grebe, 7 Pochard, 23 Tufted Duck and 3 Long Tailed Tits.

MUTE SWANS Still 74 in the field at Twyford on 13th Mar with 63 near Aston-on-Trent and 25 at Thulston Lane End on 14th Mar.
